Funk Street! x Club Rivera
CLUB RIVERA, created by Antonio Calandra and Francesco Arena in 2020, blends jazz, soul, hip hop, funk with a Mediterranean vibe.
Originating between Italy and Sweden, the project started as an electronic duo but shifted towards more analogue and electric sounds, collaborating with musicians globally.
After singles “Ike and Sean” and “Mood,” followed by a preview live performance of their full album “Elements” at Ricci Weekender, hosted by Gilles Peterson and Ed Wilson, the album came out in November 2023;
“Elements” garnered attention, leading to performances across Italy, including notable venues like Biko in Milan and Monk in Rome opening for Illa J during the Gaeta Jazz Festival extra date.
Daniele Mizar putted some tracks on rotation on Soho Radio and British DJ and music expert Tina Edwards featured “Elements” among the best releases of 2023 and highlighted Club Rivera as a notable rising act, adding them to her well-known playlists.
