Gigs at the o2 Apollo Manchester
The o2 Apollo Manchester was originally opened in 1938 as a cinema, later converting to a concert venue in the 1970s. The Apollo is located in Ardwick Green, on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre. Famous for its white terracotta front, the Apollo has become one of Manchester's well-known concert venues, hosting acts and bands from around the world.
With a capacity of ~3,500 (a mixture of seated and standing) over two floors, the Apollo is classified as a medium sized venue. Over the years the name has changed several times, from Apollo Theatre to Manchester Apollo, then Carling Apollo Manchester, and finally o2 Apollo Manchester.
